Adepero Okulaja, MD
Dr. Okulaja, is an internal medicine/integrated medicine specialist leading the medical practice, The Doctor’s House, in Edina, Minnesota. She is caring, compassionate, and a good listener, and promotes a whole-life approach to her patients’ wellness. Dr. Okulaja attended medical school Obafemi Oawolowo and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) in the western region of Nigeria. She moved to the United States in 1994. She began her preliminary year at the University of Pennsylvania and went on to complete an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency at the Albert Einstein medical center also in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After completing her residency, she moved to the Midwest where she pioneered an internal medicine/pediatrics outpatient clinic in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
She then move to Minnesota in 2006 and worked as an internal medicine physician at the M Health Oxboro Clinic before starting her own practice – The Doctor’s House in December 2017, where she continues to practice to date. Dr. Okulaja grew up in west Africa. She originally wanted to be a photographer, a linguist, or be involved in foreign services as an ambassador. However, through the course of her studies, she discovered that she loved learning about the human body, and the rest as we say, is history. But she believes that the day she became a doctor, was the day she started seeing her own patients in her clinic which was when her passion for forming meaningful doctor-patient relationships was birthed. Dr. Okulaja knew she was destined to be a doctor. She was not able to achieve her dream to provide quality health care that’s holistic, intuitive, and truly benefits the patient as an employed physician, which is what inspired her to open her own practice.
Dr. Okulaja believes in living life to the fullest. Her interests include cooking, traveling, inspirational speaking, singing, and creative writing.
